In July 2022, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Peta (July 4, 1822), the Society for Hellenism and Philhellenism, in collaboration with the Museum of Philhellenism, published an interesting book titled: “The Battle of Peta—The Cornerstone of European Unification”. The book presents a comprehensive chronicle of the Battle of Peta, providing information on the formation of the Regular Army and the Philhellenic Battalion, the Epirus campaign, and the battles at Kompoti and Peta. It also examines the role of the Philhellenes in the conflicts and provides an extensive record of the volunteers who took part in them, along with brief biographical information on each one. It is worth noting that the text is written in six languages: Greek, English, French, German, Italian, and Polish, and the translation was carried out by descendants of Philhellenes who participated in the events. The authors of the work are Mr. Konstantinos Velentzas, president of the Museum of Philhellenism, and Ms. Rosina Vavetsi, mayor of the Municipality of Nikolaos Skoufas-Peta.
